Reiki Healing
The word "Reiki" has been translated from Japanese into English as ‘spiritual life force energy’. Reiki is used to describe a system of healing and well-being.
The system of Reiki is a method of working with energy that allows your body and mind to clear themselves, thus leaving you feeling lighter, healthier and re-energised.
Reiki dates back from the early 1900s when the Japanese Buddhist, Mikao Usui (1865-1926), brought together various elements from his own spiritual practices to develop a system we call Reiki.
How does a Reiki session work?
A Reiki session is normally done with you lying down.
The Reiki treatment is performed fully clothed. During the treatment the practitioner will mainly focus the hands on the area around your head and shoulders.
Reiki sessions take approximately 1 hour, but less will also do its work. If you wish to focus on a specific issue or health problem it is advisable to book a series of 3 treatments. But first try one treatment to see if you like the experience.
The benefits
Reiki affects each individual differently.
You might sense something heating up, moving and/or find yourself in a very relaxed state, but you might feel nothing at first.
After a session you sometimes can feel a little worse before feeling better. This is in fact a very positive sign indicating that the Reiki is moving things inside you, whilst your body is clearing itself.
Reiki will always be working on something in your body even if you are not consciously aware of it. Some benefits of Reiki are; Reiki creates deep relaxation and aids your body to release stress and tension. Reiki accelerates the body's self-healing ability, aids better sleep, reduces blood pressure and helps to relieve pain. Reiki can also assist the body in cleaning itself from toxins, supports the immune system and increases vitality.
Reiki can never harm, only heal!
